Candidate committees, the principal campaign committees of individuals running for U.S. House, Senate, or President, file using FEC Form 3 (House and Senate) or FEC Form 3P (presidential). In 2026, FEC quarterly reports follow the standard April/July/October/Year-End schedule, plus pre- and post-general reports tied to the November general election. Candidate committees are also subject to 48-Hour Notices (Form 6) for contributions of $1,000 or more received within 20 days of any election in which their candidate participates. Political Action Committees (PACs)

Super PACs

Super PACs (independent expenditure-only committees) may receive unlimited contributions from individuals, corporations, labor unions, and other PACs, but cannot contribute directly to candidates or regular PACs. They file using FEC Form 3X (Non-Party) and follow the same quarterly or monthly reporting schedule as traditional PACs.
