Anedot deducts its processing fee before depositing funds to your bank account, which means the amount you receive is less than the gross contribution amount. ISPolitical handles this correctly within the deposit batch workflow: the gross contribution amount is captured in the compliance record (which is what the FEC requires for reporting), while the fee is recorded as part of the same deposit, so your bank reconciliation reflects the net deposit accurately. ISPolitical only receives a transaction record when Anedot processes a successful payment. If a recurring donation fails due to a declined card, an expired payment method, or cancellation, nothing is sent to ISPolitical, and no record is created. This is intentional: ISPolitical doesn’t pre-enter future recurring contributions because they don’t always go through. The practical effect is that failed transactions won’t create erroneous contribution records in your compliance database, and you won’t have to reverse entries for donations that never cleared manually.
