Our Quick Import tool supports several file types to help you upload contact and contribution data in bulk. Using the correct format and file extension ensures your data is recognized and imported properly.
Our Quick Import tool supports:
- Excel
- Comma-Separated Values
- Tab Separated Values
For the tool to recognize and import your file correctly, it must have the proper file extension:
- Excel files must use .xls or .xlsx
- Comma Separated Values must use .csv
- Tab Separated Values must use .tsv
If a file does not have the correct extension, the system may not recognize it during import.
In some cases, CSV or TSV files may be saved with a .txt
extension instead of their correct format. If this happens, you can
open the file in a text editor to confirm whether the data is
comma-separated or tab-separated. Once confirmed, rename the file with
the appropriate extension (.csv or .tsv) and proceed with the import.
Using the correct file type and extension will help ensure a smooth, accurate import.
