ISP sends compliance report reminder alerts to let you know that a filing deadline may apply to you. These alerts are generated by ai@ISP based on the deadlines set for an agency and form, matched against your committee type. They are not a review of your individual activity, and receiving one does not confirm that you are required to file.
What Triggers a Reminder
Reminders are tied to filing deadlines for a given agency and report form. If your committee type is one that would normally file that report, you are included in the reminder.
These reminders are intentionally broad. A filer outside a particular race can still become subject to reporting, for example, by making a contribution or expenditure related to that race. Rather than risk a client missing an obligation, ISP errs on the side of sending the reminder.
Where to Manage Your Alerts
Compliance report reminders are controlled on the ai@ISP page under the Tools tab.
- Navigate to Tools, then ai@ISP.
- Confirm that ai@ISP is toggled On.
- Confirm that Send Alerts is toggled On.
- In Alert Recipients, click Edit to add or remove the users who should receive these emails.
Why an Alert May Reference an Election You Are Not In
Your account can hold elections that are not associated with your filer. When that happens, a reminder tied to one of those elections can still reach you.
How to Make Your Reminders More Accurate
Associating your filer with the elections that actually apply to it gives ISP the information it needs to narrow your reminders.
- Click the Lists tab and choose Elections.
- Open the election your filer is participating in.
- Check the Active Filer box for that filer.
- Repeat for each election that applies.
Elections without an Active Filer are not considered to belong to any specific filer.
If You Are Still Receiving Reminders That Do Not Apply
Contact Support at support@ISPolitical.com with the report name and the election in question. Support can review how the reminder for that report is configured.
A Reminder Is Not a Filing Determination
A reminder tells you a deadline exists. It does not confirm that you have a reporting obligation. If you are unsure whether a report applies to you, check with the filing agency or contact Support.
