ISPolitical’s API is a REST API designed to allow the submission of contribution and other financial data to ISP’s clients’ databases, and to allow partners to request certain account information back.
All requests use POST and basic access authentication. Your username is a pipe delimited concatenation of the client account name and your integration login name, such as Washington|CWODS. Your password is provided by ISPolitical staff.
If you have not integrated with ISPolitical before, contact support@ispolitical.com to have your integration set up.
Submission API
Endpoint: https://app.ispolitical.com/api/PublicForms/
The submission API accepts entity and transaction data, including online donations, fees and other expenses, volunteers with flags, political committees, deposit batches, and transaction splits. All of these use the same endpoint. Only the JSON payload changes. A submission returns a success or failure response and a unique ID per account.
Contribution Summary API
Endpoint: https://app.ispolitical.com/api/ContributionReports
The Contribution Summary API returns summarized contribution totals for a date range, grouped by day, week, month, year, or all. It is ideal for building a centralized campaign dashboard across multiple tools. This API is secured separately from the submission API, so contact support@ispolitical.com to request access even if you already have an integration.
Lists API
Endpoint: https://app.ispolitical.com/api/Lists/
The Lists API returns reference lists from a client’s account. The list returned is determined by the Item value submitted. Budget Category returns the account’s budget categories. Deposit Batch returns deposit batch date, amount, name, number, and Dropbox pathway.
