Adding Records From Agency Data

Search results for Individuals and Organizations also display matching records from filing agencies, when applicable to the account, and when the option is enabled.

Instead of manually filling in an Individual or Organization’s details, you have the option to populate a record with the information on file with the agency to which you file.

How it works:

  1. Navigate to Add/Search
  2. Select Individual or Organization
  3. Enter your search parameter and click Search

Among the search results, some options may show a note indicating “Import from…” followed by an agency name. Clicking these results will create the record as it appears in publicly searchable campaign finance disclosure records.

When importing committees, all available linked records will be imported as well. For example, importing “John Doe for Congress” would import the committee’s Organization record, as well as import and link the Treasurer and Candidate records.

Enable Agency Import by navigating to the gear menu (gear icon), and select Account Management. If your agency is one of the supported ones below, you will see a toggle for [Agency] data in Search. Slide it to green to make this option available.
