About FEC Itemization

Applies To: Federal Election Commission

Why are my transactions not itemizing?

When generating FEC reports, some transactions may not be showing up on your report as itemized entries. One of the more likely possibilities is that the transaction didn’t reach the FEC itemization threshold.

Per FEC guidelines, transactions must be itemized if it exceeds $200.00. Therefore, on ISP, a transaction at exactly $200.00 will not be itemized and will instead pull to the Unitemized line on the report (Line 11aii). Any transactions at $200.01 or above will still be itemized, however.

If the unitemized transaction is passed the threshold of $200.01 or if you still have a problem with transactions not itemizing, contact Support at Support@ISPolitical.com with the exact details.

Why are my transactions itemizing when they shouldn’t be?

It might be because of the Previous General Election date you used when you generated the report. For example, let’s say you have two $10 contributions from a particular donor attributed to the 2026 primary election. This same donor donated $1,000 in 2023. When you generated the report, you used 11/08/2022 as the Previous General Election date.

These transactions are itemized on this report because the
aggregation runs from the 11/08/2022 general election date. All
contributions after that date, including the 2024 and 2026 elections,
are factored into it. In this case, since the donor has given well over the $200 itemization threshold since your Previous General Election Date, the $10 contributions itemize.
