The MI PAC Late Contribution Report is used to disclose contributions that meet the late filing threshold received after the closing date of the last required campaign statement and up to the 3rd day before an election. This report is intended for PACs that have received a single contribution or cumulative contributions from the same contributor of $2,500.00 or more within that window.
The MI PAC Late Contribution Report must be filed electronically using the state’s reporting software. This report generates a list of all contributors meeting the criteria, along with the pertinent information needed to enter into the state’s system.
When filing this report, note the following:
- The from date must be set to the day after the closing date of the last filed report
- The through date covers up to the 3rd day before the election
- A single contribution or a cumulative contribution from the same contributor of $2,500.00 or more (for PAC/Party/Ballot Measure Committees) or $500.00 or more (for candidates) triggers the filing requirement
- Contributions include anything of monetary value — money, in-kind contributions, and loans to the committee
- If the contributor is an individual, Occupation, Employer, and Business Address must also be reported
- The Late Contribution must also be reported on the next Campaign Statement owed by the committee
- Late Contribution Reports filed late result in a late filing fee, with a maximum fee of $2,000.00 per report
- Once filed in the state’s system, click Mark as Filed to ensure those transactions are not included in the next periodic report
Late Contribution Reports are not waived by the Reporting Waiver.
