The MI Late Contribution Report (LCR) is used to disclose contributions that meet the late filing threshold received after the closing date of the last required campaign statement and up to the 3rd day before an election. This report is intended for:
- PACs that have received a single contribution or cumulative contributions from the same contributor of $2,500.00 or more within that window
- Candidate Committees that that have received a single contribution or cumulative contributions
from the same contributor of $500.00 or more within that window
The MI LCR must be filed electronically using the state’s reporting software. This report generates an import of all contributors & contribution information meeting the criteria, along with the pertinent information needed to import into the state’s system.
When filing this report, note the following:
- The From date must be set to the day after the closing date of the last filed report
- The To date covers up to the 3rd day before the election
- A single contribution or a cumulative contribution from the same contributor of $2,500.00 or more (for PAC/Party/Ballot Measure Committees) or $500.00 or more (for candidates) triggers the filing requirement
- Contributions include both monetary and inkind contributions
- If the contributor is an Individual: Occupation, Employer, and Business Address must also be reported
- The transactions itemized on the LCR must also be reported on the next standard periodic Campaign Statement filed by the committee
- Late Contribution Reports filed late result in a late filing fee, with a maximum fee of $2,000.00 per report
- Once uploaded and filed in the state’s system, click Mark as Filed in ISP to ensure those transactions are not included on the next LCR
Late Contribution Reports are not waived by the Reporting Waiver.
