Why Does My CA Form 460 Show an Election Date of 1/1/1900?

If Line 22 of your CA Form 460 displays an election date of 1/1/1900, it does not represent an actual election date. It indicates that one or more transactions are assigned to the Non-Election election record.
Why This Happens
For candidate committees, transactions that are subject to voluntary expenditure limits should generally be associated with a valid election. If a transaction is assigned to Non-Election, the report displays the placeholder date of 1/1/1900.
How to Resolve It
If the transaction should be associated with an election:
Open the transaction.
Change the Election to the appropriate election.
Regenerate the report.
If the transaction should not be included in the voluntary expenditure ceiling calculation:
Open the transaction.
Add the Exempt from Expenditure Ceiling tag.
Regenerate the report.
Additional Information
The Exempt from Expenditure Ceiling tag excludes eligible transactions from the Line 22 calculation. If you continue to see 1/1/1900 after updating your transactions, review the transactions included on Line 22 to verify they are assigned to the correct election or appropriately marked as exempt.
